Multicolored Hindu Festivals

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

There are several Hindu festivals. As a matter of fact, annual spring festival is the most celebrated one; Hindu people mark the coming of spring. The festival is alternatively named “Festival of Dyes”. People use many dyes and herbs: dyes to make the festival multicolored and herbs – to prevent cold, fight spring avitaminosis and boost immune system.

As a rule, the festivals fall on the full moon according to the Hindu celestial calendar (the end of February or beginning of March).

Hindu women play with dyes and colored powder trying to splash dyes and throw powder on other people making them become painted in all colors of rainbow. This is often portraited in Hindi phone sex fantasies. The festival is popular in many countries with dominant Hindu religion (such as India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka etc.). Moreover, it is marked in the countries with large Hindu diasporas, among them being: Surinam, South Africa, Great Britain and USA etc.
